Pool Renovations in San Antonio & the Hill Country

A renovation is where an outdated, damaged or dated pool becomes one your family actually wants to use again — new finishes, tile, coping, lighting and equipment, planned around what your pool actually needs.

What's Included

What a Pool Renovation Actually Covers

"Renovation" means different things to different companies. For us, it covers any combination of the upgrades below, scoped to what your pool needs rather than a one-size-fits-all package.

1New Surface & Finish

Plaster, pebble or quartz finishes to replace a rough, stained or aging pool surface.

2Tile & Coping

Waterline tile and coping replaced or upgraded, including decorative and mosaic options.

3Lighting & Water Features

LED lighting, deck jets, waterfalls, and spillways added or updated.

4Equipment Upgrades

Pumps, filters, heaters and automation replaced with more efficient equipment.

Is It Time?

Signs Your Pool Is Ready for a Renovation

A renovation usually makes sense once a pool has more than one issue at a time, or when the look and function no longer match how your family actually uses the backyard.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

Renovation Work Backed by Builder Experience

We inspect and explain before we recommend a scope of work, so you understand what's actually driving the renovation and what your options are at every price point.

As the sister company of South Texas Custom Pools, we bring the same construction know-how used to build new pools into every renovation — which matters when a project involves structural work, not just surface changes.

Good to Know

Pool Renovation Questions

If you're dealing with more than one issue at once — worn plaster, outdated tile, aging equipment, a design you've outgrown — a renovation usually makes more sense than tackling each problem separately. If it's a single, isolated issue, a targeted repair may be all you need. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in during your estimate.

It depends on scope. Surface and tile work on its own typically moves faster than a full renovation that also touches equipment, lighting or water features. Once we've inspected your pool, we'll give you a realistic timeline in writing before work starts.

Many homeowners actually prefer it. Since you're not swimming during the cooler months anyway, scheduling a renovation then means your pool is finished and ready before the first hot weekend of spring. San Antonio's mild winters also mean plaster and surface work can generally proceed year-round.

It depends on the scope of the work — structural changes and some deck work typically require a permit through the City of San Antonio or Bexar County, while cosmetic surface and tile work often does not. We'll let you know what your specific project requires and help you navigate it.

Yes. Renovations are the most cost-effective time to add features like LED lighting, deck jets, a waterfall or spillway, since the pool is already being worked on. Let us know what you're interested in during your estimate and we'll build it into the scope of work.
